PRESS about MESSE conference in Sofia

Deputy Mayor of Sofia municipality Mrs. Albena Atanasova opened the 3rd MESSE interregional conference titled "Supporting structures for Social Enterprises development" within the project "Mechanism for increasing interaction between business and sustainable development / MESSE /" co-funded by INTERREG IV C of European Union.

Problems of social economy and social entrepreneurship are challenging for European development and stability. For participate in the meeting responded to the call representatives of many international institutions, civil society organizations and business from nine European countries.

The MESSE project, in which Sofia Municipality is a partner, aims to improve the effectiveness of regional development policies for economic growth and quality of social entrepreneurs in Europe.

Project partners in a project MESSE, regardless of existing differences in the legal framework and successful models of social entrepreneurship together exchange experiences, methods and tools to enhance the cooperation between operators in stimulating new, sustainable and responsible culture entrepreneurship in Europe.

The aim of the conference was to share experiences among stakeholders in Bulgaria and to orient the attending representatives of national and local institutions, academia, NGOs, cooperatives and unions in the problems and prospects of the development of social enterprises in Bulgaria, and show good practices proposed by the project partners.
A special guest at the international conference was Mr. Mincho Koralski - Executive Director of the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, a former Deputy Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Member of the 37 th National Assembly. He shared many years of experience in the policy of our country regarding employment of citizens, social entrepreneurs and businesses enabling employment of people with disabilities.
The conference was attended by representatives from:
Ministry of Labour and Social Policy The Agency for Social Assistance Deputy Mayors areas of CO, Director Agency for Persons with Disabilities Representatives of social enterprises, associations of NGOs, Sofia University and the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and partners from 8 European countries - Italy, Spain, Germany, United Kingdom, Greece, Romania, Hungary and Sweden.
